Project Description:

The new Haworth Headquarters is slated to be more then just the flagship building.  It will also be an important leap for the company which began from one man building furniture out of his garage, this step will complete the evolution into a global resource of innovation for the furniture industry and beyond.

The Haworth Center will house the offices of the Haworth employees but it will go beyond that to provide a place for project and idea teams to experiement, colloborate and transcend the idea of designing the office workplace.

Haworth has always taken the commitment of building green to a new level, this time by registering the building with a LEED - Gold certification with the USGBC.

To achieve this architecture implements numerous sustainable ideas including triple pane glazed curtain wall for the large expanse of glass facade to allow transparency and natural light to fill the atrium while keeping energy costs in check.

A green roof slopes upward from grade and covers the facility offering increased insulation values as well as offers water absorption to reduce rain water run-off capacities.

The building also incorporates the existing architecture while the new enclosure elegently intervenes to comply with the new vision of Haworth - 'change by design'.
